Zainium OS is a rolling release
No version numbers — install once and stay current. ISO snapshots are named after their date.
Zainium OS will not have numbered versions. It is a rolling release: you install it once and keep it current with
elevate zex update
Your software updates in place. The base is updated atomically: new base packages are staged while you work and applied at the next boot, before anything uses them, and the last upgrade can be rolled back.
ISO images are only a fresh starting point. They are rebuilt regularly and named after their date, for example zainium-live-2026.10.28.iso. An installed system never needs a new ISO.
This news page is the changelog: notable base updates and new ISO snapshots will be announced here and in the RSS feed. The ISO snapshots are on the download page.
